Ball grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists, tallying a plus-minus of +7 in his 38:22 of playing time. He added four blocks and three steals.
Analysis: Ball scored in double digits after totaling 11 points in his previous two games so his dad should be happy.
Dec. 4 10:07 PM PT11:07 PM MT12:07 AM CT1:07 AM ET6:07 GMT14:07 11:07 PM MST1:07 AM EST10:07 UAE07:071:07 ET12:07 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored two points Sunday, going 0 of 4 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Houston Rockets 118-95. Ball pulled down one rebound and dished out three assists, tallying a plus-minus of -9 in his 22:02 on the floor. He added two blocks.
Analysis: Ball has been dealing with left calf tightness recently and didn't play much in the second half once the score got out of hand. Though the heralded rookie intends to play through the issue, there's certainly a chance his workload is reduced if the injury continues to bother him. However, he practiced in full Tuesday.
Dec. 3 9:06 PM PT10:06 PM MT11:06 PM CT12:06 AM ET5:06 GMT13:06 10:06 PM MST12:06 AM EST9:06 UAE06:060:06 ET11:06 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored nine points Saturday on 4-of-10 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Denver Nuggets 115-100. Ball grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -15 in his 33:22 on the floor. He added two steals. Ball went 1 of 4 from 3-point range.
Nov. 30 12:24 AM PT1:24 AM MT2:24 AM CT3:24 AM ET8:24 GMT16:24 1:24 AM MST3:24 AM EST12:24 UAE09:243:24 ET2:24 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored 15 points Wednesday, going 5 of 12 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Golden State Warriors 127-123 in overtime. Ball pulled down two rebounds and dished out 10 assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -8 in his 43:20 on the floor. He tacked on one steal. Ball went 3 of 7 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Though putting together two straight good shooting and scoring games remains a challenge, Ball is on a five-game run in which he's averaged 9.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.6 assists - all better than his season per-game rates. Sure, there are going to continue to be ups and downs from the intriguing rookie, but it's still not too wise for fantasy players to bench a guy who's a legit triple-double threat each time he takes the court.
Nov. 28 7:51 AM PT8:51 AM MT9:51 AM CT10:51 AM ET15:51 GMT23:51 8:51 AM MST10:51 AM EST19:51 UAE16:5110:51 ET9:51 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored three points Monday on 1-of-7 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Los Angeles Clippers 120-115. Ball grabbed five rebounds and had seven assists, tallying a plus-minus of -12 in his 26:17 of playing time. He tacked on one steal. Ball went 1 of 6 from behind the arc.
Analysis: His contributions in the rebounding and assist categories are enough to keep him active in fantasy, but his shooting woes remain a huge detriment. Ball is at 29.9 percent from the field in his last seven games, averaging 6.9 points, and he's even missed all four of his free-throw attempts in that span.
Nov. 23 11:19 PM PT12:19 AM MT1:19 AM CT2:19 AM ET7:19 GMT15:19 12:19 AM MST2:19 AM EST11:19 UAE08:192:19 ET1:19 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored 11 points Wednesday on 4-of-8 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings 113-102. Ball grabbed seven rebounds and had 11 assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -1 in his 37:16 of playing time. He tacked on one steal. Ball went 3 of 5 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Though Ball's team lost his highly billed first professional showdown with De'Aaron Fox, he did win the statistical battle between the rookie point guards and actually shot the ball well on this night. Whether he can build off it in Monday's matchup with the Clippers remains to be seen, as he owns a terrible .267 field goal percentage at Staples Center. The 20-year-old has still compiled 36 rebounds and 26 assists over his last three games.
Nov. 22 9:59 PM PT10:59 PM MT11:59 PM CT12:59 AM ET5:59 GMT13:59 10:59 PM MST12:59 AM EST9:59 UAE06:590:59 ET11:59 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored eight points Tuesday on 3-of-13 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Chicago Bulls 103-94. Ball pulled down 13 rebounds and had four assists, tallying a plus-minus of +14 in his 32:00 on the floor. He added one steal. Ball went 2 of 8 from 3-point range.
Nov. 20 9:30 PM PT10:30 PM MT11:30 PM CT12:30 AM ET5:30 GMT13:30 10:30 PM MST12:30 AM EST9:30 UAE06:300:30 ET11:30 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored 11 points Sunday on 5-of-13 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 127-109. Ball pulled down 16 rebounds and had 11 assists, tallying a plus-minus of +29 in his 39:54 on the floor. He added two blocks. Ball went 1 of 4 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Ball also turned it over just twice while joining Magic Johnson as the only Laker rookies with two triple-doubles in a season. The 20-year-old still isn't shooting particularly well, but he's kept on stuffing the stat sheet with averages of 8.7 assists, 7.5 rebounds, 2.2 steals and one block over his last six games.
Nov. 18 9:40 AM PT10:40 AM MT11:40 AM CT12:40 PM ET17:40 GMT1:40 10:40 AM MST12:40 PM EST21:40 UAE18:4012:40 ET11:40 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored six points Friday, going 3 of 7 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns 122-113. Ball pulled down six rebounds and dished out six assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -2 in his 37:41 of playing time. He added one block and five steals.
Analysis: Every since he became the youngest player in NBA history with a triple-double, Lonzo has been a Small Baller. He's averaging 5.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in his last three games and is barely shooting 30.0 percent on the season.
Nov. 16 10:11 PM PT11:11 PM MT12:11 AM CT1:11 AM ET6:11 GMT14:11 11:11 PM MST1:11 AM EST10:11 UAE07:111:11 ET12:11 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored two points Wednesday, going 1 of 9 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Philadelphia 76ers 115-109. Ball pulled down five rebounds and had two assists, tallying a plus-minus of -18 in his 21:25 of playing time. He added one steal. Ball struggled from 3-point range, coming up empty on all six of his attempts.
Analysis: Ball's awful 27.3 percent field goal success rate in November is certainly a concern, but the bigger worry may be that Luke Walton benched the rookie phenom for the entire fourth quarter for a second straight game. Though his upside remains huge, his short-term outlook looks a lot less promising than it seemed a week ago.
Nov. 14 9:08 PM PT10:08 PM MT11:08 PM CT12:08 AM ET5:08 GMT13:08 10:08 PM MST12:08 AM EST9:08 UAE06:080:08 ET11:08 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored seven points Monday, going 3 of 10 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns 100-93. Ball grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists, tallying a plus-minus of -11 in his 28:05 of playing time. He added two steals. Ball went 1 of 4 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Ball's improved shooting lasted all of one game. The heralded rookie has now hit on a troubling 29.1 percent of his field goal attempts - including a 21.2 percent clip on 3s - in seven games this month. Fortunately, he doesn't need to score to provide fantasy value, as evidenced by the 7.4 assists, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals he's averaged during the slump.
Nov. 12 9:26 PM PT10:26 PM MT11:26 PM CT12:26 AM ET5:26 GMT13:26 10:26 PM MST12:26 AM EST9:26 UAE06:260:26 ET11:26 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored 19 points Saturday, going 7 of 12 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Milwaukee Bucks 98-90. Ball grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 13 assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +10 in his 38:48 of playing time. He added four blocks and three steals. Ball went 3 of 5 from behind the arc.
Analysis: The 20-year-old became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double, plus he's picked up six steals and eight blocks over his last eight games. Ball is still shooting a poor 29 percent from the field in November, but sports crazy fantasy upside if he's able to make buckets with a little more consistency.
Nov. 9 7:18 PM PT8:18 PM MT9:18 PM CT10:18 PM ET3:18 GMT11:18 8:18 PM MST10:18 PM EST7:18 UAE (+1)04:1822:18 ET9:18 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored 10 points Thursday, going 3 of 12 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Washington Wizards 111-95. Ball grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -15 in his 28:30 on the floor. He tacked on two steals. Ball went 1 of 7 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Ball finished the night shooting 29.2 percent so far in the pros. That's the second-worst through a player's first 12 games in the shot-clock era.
Nov. 8 8:21 PM PT9:21 PM MT10:21 PM CT11:21 PM ET4:21 GMT12:21 9:21 PM MST11:21 PM EST8:21 UAE05:2123:21 ET10:21 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored nine points Wednesday on 4-of-15 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Boston Celtics 107-96. Ball grabbed five rebounds and dished out six assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -5 in his 38:34 on the floor. He added four blocks and one steal. Ball went 1 of 5 from behind the arc.
Nov. 6 6:37 AM PT7:37 AM MT8:37 AM CT9:37 AM ET14:37 GMT22:37 7:37 AM MST9:37 AM EST18:37 UAE15:379:37 ET8:37 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored nine points Sunday on 3-of-13 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers topped the Memphis Grizzlies 107-102. Ball grabbed five rebounds and dished out nine assists, tallying a plus-minus of +10 in his 35:09 of playing time. Ball went 1 of 8 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Ball is 11 for 47 beyond the arc this season and is likely going to keep having growing pains with his shot all season.
Nov. 4 8:53 AM PT9:53 AM MT10:53 AM CT11:53 AM ET15:53 GMT23:53 8:53 AM MST10:53 AM EST19:53 UAE16:5311:53 ET9:53 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored six points Friday on 3-of-15 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers topped the Brooklyn Nets 124-112. Ball pulled down five rebounds and had seven assists, tallying a plus-minus of +22 in his 28:37 of playing time. He tacked on two steals.
Analysis: It might be time to put Ball on your fantasy bench in season-long leagues and avoid him in daily fantasy if you haven't already done so. His field-goal percentage is down to 30.8 percent, he's scored in double figures once in the last seven games and Ball has seen a slight drop in playing time over the past few games as Jordan Clarkson has played well off the bench.
Nov. 3 9:33 PM PT10:33 PM MT11:33 PM CT12:33 AM ET4:33 GMT12:33 9:33 PM MST11:33 PM EST8:33 UAE05:330:33 ET10:33 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball did not score Thursday, going 0 of 2 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Portland Trail Blazers 113-110. Ball grabbed three rebounds and had four assists, tallying a plus-minus of +10 in his 28:07 on the floor. He added two blocks and one steal.
Nov. 1 9:22 PM PT10:22 PM MT11:22 PM CT12:22 AM ET4:22 GMT12:22 9:22 PM MST11:22 PM EST8:22 UAE05:220:22 ET10:22 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored 13 points Tuesday on 6-of-13 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Detroit Pistons 113-93. Ball grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists, tallying a plus-minus of +8 in his 27:46 of playing time. He added two blocks. Ball went 1 of 3 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Ball regained some of his shooting touch after going 10 of 41 (24.4 percent) from the field while failing to score in double figures in any of his previous four games. While the rookie sensation's point totals will likely continue to fluctuate, he's been a consistent contributor in the rebounding and assist categories so far.
Oct. 28 9:28 PM PT10:28 PM MT11:28 PM CT12:28 AM ET4:28 GMT12:28 9:28 PM MST11:28 PM EST8:28 UAE06:280:28 ET11:28 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored five points Friday on 2-of-7 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Toronto Raptors 101-92. Ball pulled down seven rebounds and had six assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -15 in his 31:30 on the floor. He added two steals. Ball went 1 of 4 from 3-point range.
Analysis: Ball's shot is just a mess right now. Clearly, the biggest weakness in his game, he's 7 for 34 from the field the last three games since he went 12 for 27 at Phoenix on Oct. 20. Ball is still having a big impact, averaging 9.5 assists and 8.5 rebounds in his last four games.
Oct. 28 8:20 PM PT9:20 PM MT10:20 PM CT11:20 PM ET3:20 GMT11:20 8:20 PM MST10:20 PM EST7:20 UAE (+1)05:2023:20 ET10:20 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored nine points Saturday on 3-of-10 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Utah Jazz 96-81. Ball grabbed two rebounds and had four assists, tallying a plus-minus of -19 in his 35:48 of playing time. He added two steals. Ball went 3 of 6 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Ball's shooting woes continued. Since going 12 for 27 in a win at Phoenix on Oct. 20, the rookie is 10 for 41 (24.4 percent) from the field, including 4 of 20 from long range. He has, however, averaged 8.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds in that span.
Oct. 26 8:04 AM PT9:04 AM MT10:04 AM CT11:04 AM ET15:04 GMT23:04 8:04 AM MST10:04 AM EST19:04 UAE17:0411:04 ET10:04 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored six points Wednesday on 2-of-11 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers topped the Washington Wizards 102-99 in overtime. Ball grabbed eight rebounds and dished out 10 assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +13 in his 39:38 on the floor. He added one block and one steal. Ball struggled from 3-point range, missing all five of his attempts.
Analysis: Ball had a tremendous performance against the Suns, but he's totaled 17 points on 6-of-30 shooting in the other three games.
Oct. 23 9:56 PM PT10:56 PM MT11:56 PM CT12:56 AM ET4:56 GMT12:56 9:56 PM MST11:56 PM EST8:56 UAE06:560:56 ET11:56 PM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored eight points Sunday, going 3 of 13 from the field, as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the New Orleans Pelicans 119-112. Ball grabbed eight rebounds and had 13 assists, tallying a plus-minus of -24 in his 36:24 of playing time. He tacked on one steal. Ball struggled from behind the arc, coming up empty on all five of his attempts.
Analysis: Ball's shot is still very much a work in progress, as he's hit just 34.8 percent of his field goal attempts and gone 5 of 17 on 3s through his first three NBA games. The sky's the limit once he improves that aspect, though, as the ballyhooed rookie has already shown his passing and rebounding skills are top notch. He's averaging 9.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists thus far.
Oct. 21 8:21 AM PT9:21 AM MT10:21 AM CT11:21 AM ET15:21 GMT23:21 8:21 AM MST10:21 AM EST19:21 UAE17:2111:21 ET10:21 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored 29 points Friday on 12-of-27 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers topped the Phoenix Suns 132-130. Ball pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out nine assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +1 in his 37:28 on the floor. He added one steal. Ball went 4 of 9 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Ball barely missed becoming the youngest player with a triple-double, 27 days earlier than LeBron James. Though it helped facing the porous Suns defense, Ball was much more aggressive after going 1 of 6 from the field and scoring three points in a season-opening loss to the Clippers. ''The last game I shot six shots,'' he said. ''That didn't work out so well. Figured I'd try something else.'' Considering it worked, expect the youngster to keep hoisting plenty of shots.
Oct. 20 7:12 AM PT8:12 AM MT9:12 AM CT10:12 AM ET14:12 GMT22:12 7:12 AM MST9:12 AM EST18:12 UAE16:1210:12 ET9:12 AM CTNaN: - Lonzo Ball scored three points Thursday on 1-of-6 shooting as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 108-92. Ball pulled down nine rebounds and had four assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -14 in his 29:21 of playing time. He added one block and one steal. Ball went 1 of 3 from behind the arc.
Analysis: Patrick Beverley dogged Ball all night, the first since that LaVar Ball is hardly doing his son any favors with his mouth. ''I just had to set the tone,'' Beverley said. ''I told him after the game, due to all the riff-raff his dad brings, he's going to get a lot of people coming at him. He has to be ready for that, and I let him know after the game. But what a better way to start him off. I was 94 feet guarding him tonight. Welcome his little young ass to the NBA.''
Oct. 17 12:10 PM PT1:10 PM MT2:10 PM CT3:10 PM ET19:10 GMT3:10 12:10 PM MST2:10 PM EST23:10 UAE21:1015:10 ET2:10 PM CTNaN: - Ball (ankle) practiced fully Tuesday and is expected to be at full strength for Thursday's season opener.
Analysis: Ball had missed time in the preseason with the ankle problem but has not been limited in practice recently.
Oct. 5 9:30 PM PT10:30 PM MT11:30 PM CT12:30 AM ET4:30 GMT12:30 9:30 PM MST11:30 PM EST8:30 UAE06:300:30 ET11:30 PM CTNaN: - Ball (ankle) won't play in Sunday's preseason contest and may miss the rest of the preseason as a precaution.
Analysis: The injury isn't expected to be serious.
July 17 1:42 PM PT2:42 PM MT3:42 PM CT4:42 PM ET20:42 GMT4:42 1:42 PM MST3:42 PM EST0:42 UAE (+1)22:4216:42 ET3:42 PM CTNaN: - Ball will not play in the Las Vegas Summer League championship game. The Lakers announced Monday that Ball suffered a mild calf strain in the third quarter Sunday and will be cautious with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.
Analysis: Ball has averaged 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals. He also posted two triple-doubles and four double-digit assist games in being named the league's Most Valuable Player.
July 10 4:39 PM PT5:39 PM MT6:39 PM CT7:39 PM ET23:39 GMT7:39 4:39 PM MST6:39 PM EST3:39 UAE (+1)01:3919:39 ET6:39 PM CTNaN: - Ball will have to wait for another shot at De'Aaron Fox. Their summer showdown Monday was canceled. The Lakers decided to rest their prized pick because of a groin injury, sitting him out of their NBA Summer League game in Las Vegas against Sacramento and fellow rookie point guard Fox.
Analysis: The No. 2 pick already knows there's no use trying to stay with the faster Fox at less than 100 percent. The Lakers said Ball, who struggled in his first game but responded with a triple-double in his second, had a sore right groin.
