Analysis: After Eflin departed his most recent start Friday with right shoulder discomfort, the Phillies had been hopeful he wouldn't require a trip to the DL, but those plans were foiled after he was later diagnosed with a strain.

Eflin struck out two, ending the game with a 6.16 ERA and 1.41 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: Eflin later complained of tightness in his right shoulder. He has lost two of three starts since a two-month stint in the minors. ''As the fifth inning came to an end it was more of a precautionary thing to come out because it wasn't feeling right at that point,'' Eflin said.

Eflin struck out five, ending the game with a 5.76 ERA and 1.38 WHIP on the season.
Analysis: After beating the Braves with seven innings of two-run ball in his return to the majors, Eflin wasn't able to match that strong effort. The right-hander gave up a pair of homers Sunday and has now allowed a troubling 14 long balls in 59 1/3 innings this season.

The second-year major leaguer has also given up seven home runs in his last two outings after allowing only four in his first six starts. He was optioned back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after the game.

Analysis: Eflin would have had his first victory of 2017 if not for an implosion by the Phillies' bullpen, which gave up four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. The young right-hander has now yielded just three runs and seven hits in 14 innings over his last two starts.
