Analysis: This is a huge blow. Ware led the team with 214 carries and 921 yards last season, and he also added 33 catches for 447 yards. This year he was expected to have at least that big a part in the offense again. Kareem Hunt and Charcandrick West will get the bulk of the carries.

Ware was injured about halfway through the first quarter. He remained on the turf after making a 6-yard reception on a pass from Alex Smith. Ware appeared to take an awkward step with his right leg during the play and team trainers were looking at his knee while he was down on the field.
Analysis: Ware rushed for 921 yards and had another 447 yards receiving last season for the Chiefs. He started his career with the Seahawks.

Analysis: The big workload in the first exhibition game seems to be a clear sign that Ware is the unquestioned lead back for the Chiefs despite the buzz around third-round pick Kareem Hunt.
